Beelove’s hive-to-jar products are made by justice-impacted people enrolled in our social enterprise program,
Sweet Beginnings (part
of the North Lawndale Employment Network).
Our goal? To restore hope and dignity by offering people an opportunity to gain the skills and confidence they need to find employment and embrace a new start.
We manage apiaries around Chicago, including at O’Hare International Airport, Roosevelt University Schumburg Campus, Cook County Trailside Museum and at home in North Lawndale.
Along the way, people learn skills ranging from farming to production, quality control, inventory management, shipping, marketing and finance.
empowers families and builds community.
And the results are truly impactful:
3 out of 4 of people who’ve taken our programs have gone on to increase their monthly income, net worth and FICO score.
55% of people released from prisons in Illinois return within 3 years. <8% of people who’ve taken our programs do.
“A job is the foundation of self-respect. It’s a powerful thing.”
Plant a bee garden, give a bee a drink – there are lots of ways you can help bees continue to be the vital engines of agriculture that they are.
Who do you know who can help us?
Are you friends with a beauty journalist?
A social media influencer? Whoever it is who gets gift list choices to Oprah?!
The bigger beelove gets, the more people we can help.
